SOFTWARE APPLICATION : SI Media Studio Automation

SI Media has recently announced the deployment of the Media Studio Automation software module, the new application to manage and control all the production systems and devices involved in a digital studio. 

The purpose is to control from a single interface with an immediate and responsive GUI all the involved production devices, such as:

1. Clip player (i.e. Video Server)
2. Graphic systems
3. Production switchers and visual mixers
4. Audio mixers
5. Lighting systems
6. Camera robotics
7. Videowall

The solution is totally integrated inside SI Media NRCS workflow, so that all the external elements such as video effects and transitions, graphics, lights, microphones and cameras can be scheduled in advance from NRCS operator interface and then managed from Media Studio Automation in PCR (i.e. Studio Control Room) during the live event.

Graphics for example are controlled through the activation of one or more parameterized graphics projects, while the other devices are controlled through the activation of preset. During the preparation of the story, it will be possible to insert a tag inside the body of the story, as it is for the other elements (video, placeholders and graphics).

An additional tool will be included to give the possibility to insert multiple preset: a macro with a unique name, which recalls multiple preset, to control simultaneously more production systems and devices with a single click.

In Media Studio Automation, there will be specific controls to activate and de-activate preset, one per each controlled production device. All the preset scheduled by the NRCS operator will be displayed in Media Studio Automation interface.

A separate panel will display the text of the story in lay, in order to check and eventually manually activate the preset during the live.

In order to automate events, which behave always in the same way (such as for example the closure of the summary story, power on the fade for the studio lights…), it should be possible to link one or more preset to those events. In this way when a NRCS operator selects a particular event/story, there will be a set of pre-configured commands automatically assigned to it, without any manual operation.
