Second place for La Isla Bonita III at La Duecento 2021 Race
SI Media’s CEO&Founder, Luigi Panozzo, and his new Solaris 44, with Marco Augelli at the helm and the tactician Giuseppe Tesorone, came in second place for the OCR XTutti Overall category, and first place in the A Class of the 27th edition of “La Duecento”, the Italian sailing federation’s offshore Championship third leg, organized by the Club Nautico Santa Margherita with the help of the City of Caorle and the Clock’s Dock.
The adverse weather forced the organizing committee and the race committee to modify the course by shortening it in order to allow all boats to complete the race safely.
Therefore, the path took place along the Caorle-Mambo2-Porer-Caorle route.
In the last miles of “La Duecento”, the wind was blowing hard with peaks up to 40 knots; the boats continued their journey under a pouring rain, which also limited visibility.
On an “angry” Adriatic, the boats managed to complete the regatta escorted by CNSM assistance vehicles, returning safely to the port.
Other crews, on the other hand, returned before crossing the finish line, considering the weather conditions too unfavorable to continue
For Panozzo’s Solaris 44, the first race was a good one. The boat managed to climb over the waves and was awarded with the prestigious second place.
The emblem of Si Media is pictured on the sails of La Isla bonita III. A winning partnership, which symbolizes the aim to always face new challenges, by getting involved and by counting on a team of professionals ready to meet the needs of their customers, overcoming even the more inaccessible waves.
